Well, here we are. The last last week of my high school career. The last day of having all of my classes on the same day. A lot of lasts. Including my last blog posting. Time flew by this year, sometimes too fast, sometimes too slowly. Most of the school year was spent looking forward to this week and the weeks afterwards, and having the time to spend on myself. A lot of my other time was spent looking forward to going to New York City.
New York City was everything I expected and more. It gave me the opportunity to try all new things, such as duck, calamari, escargo, the chance to sample new cuisines, and familiar cuisines in new ways. Les Halles, a french restaurant, was where I had the opportunity to try escargo. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
The statues and buildings of New York City were more then I could ever expect. I'm trying to come up with a decent description, but I sincerely cannot. The streets were long and confusing, the subway was an adventure, the concert was the best event I have ever had the fortune to experience, broadway was full of glitter and magic, the humidity was hot, and the sidewalks were glittery at night. New York was an experience everyone should have.
The Ritz Carlton was something I'll take with me from high school. The tour showed me a beautiful building full of occupations that I would be happy doing at wages that I could live with. But it's a commitment that I'm not sure I would be good with making. We'll see where I go in life.
Graduation is in a few days. My big brother Adam is flying out for it and I'm seriously excited. I'm excited for this summer, but to be honest, I'll miss high school, and this class. I'll leave this with some words from Lady Gaga, "We can be strong out on this lonely run on the road to love." Good luck Class of 2011.
I don't get how people can starve themselves. Food is my best friend.
Find stuff.

Murder On Maui
Wonderful, wonderful Hawaiian food! We got to do research about Hawaiian food by going to go eat at Banana Hut, which was amazing. I love the teriyaki chicken. And the rice? Amazing. The pineapple gravy just makes me drool thinking about it.
And then, we got to sell tickets. I didn't sell as many as I wanted too, but we definitely didn't hurt on the population of our dinner. The actual dinner, we had over 100 people, which was amazing! The dinner flowed right along, and the decorations were awesome, and there were no major problems.
In addition, the cast of our murder mystery play, they were outstanding! They were hilarious and made the night absolutely amazing.
In conclusion, the night was such a success, that next year's class should most definitely do it again, because I want to be a paying customer.

Busy busy bees!
In the last two weeks we have catered three different events. The first event, a tea party, we made several different kinds of Cookies and lovely sandwiches that were cut into triangles. It was fun, and everything plated up so pretty that it was slightly unbelievable. But since we're so good at team work in this class, there weren't any major problems.
The next two events were scheduled on the same day(Whoops!) but we made it! We made so many tart shells, lemon curd, cheese cake filling and some other stuff that none of us ever want to see it again. Haha. The actual catering event was so much fun it was also ridiculous, there were only a few minor hitches. Looking forward to the next one!

Bake-sale-licious
So, our last few staff lunches have been amazing. They went smoothly, and no major complaints.
We had a bake sale fundraiser on Feb 5, and we made OVER $600 dollars! And that was even with competition from the cheerleader's stand. Asking for donations was an excellent marketing idea, and the timing was a great too, because everyone had money to spare. For our next bake sale we should brainstorm additional ideas. Perhaps let a business like See's Candy have a few boxes of candy on our table, something like that. Or set up some kind of advertising scheme.
Berries make everything look good. :)
Also, my birthday is in 24 days. Just thought you'd like to know. haha.

Tons of flour, chocolate and sugar.
Well, food is definitely interesting. When you add people to the mix sometimes it gets a bit extreme. But this entire semester we have been busy fundraising, making pies, cookies and cupcakes. Our pie sale was a success, if you don't count the chocolate pie. Haha. We made about a million cookies, and served whatever was left over at the Winter Festival. We catered a few events, and those were a complete success as well.
It's a new year, and we'll see how well it goes.
